Woodstock, IL, January 15, 2016– The Woodstock Jaycees, a long standing civic organization dedicated to creating sustainable positive change within the Woodstock community, are excited to announce the installment of its 2016 board of directors.
Crystal Squires of Woodstock will serve as chapter President. Joanna Kielian of Marengo will serve as External Vice President. Amanda Homeier of Woodstock will serve as State Director. Tamara Netsell of Woodstock will serve as Secretary as well as Treasurer. Heather Garrison of Woodstock will serve as Chairman of the Board. Each board member serves a term of one year.
Junior Chamber International or JCI is a long standing community organization dedicated to creating sustainable positive change within communities around the world. Members, also known as Jaycees, are encouraged to make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve through civic involvement, volunteerism and personal development.
The Woodstock chapter of JCI’s president Crystal Squires expresses her excitement for the new year; “2016 will be a great year; our goals include: member growth and becoming more involved with the community”. The Woodstock Jaycees provide many services and events within Woodstock. These include the annual Easter Egg Hunt held at Emrickson Park, road cleanup along Dean St., the planting and maintaining of the flower urns on the square, and the Best of Woodstock Pizza Contest. New this year, the Woodstock Jaycees will be focusing on Homelessness with the development of the Poverty Project.
